Nollywood actress, Biodun Okeowo, is not bothered if anybody feels a big time politician set up her multi million Naira beauty parlour that she launched in Lagos few months back.
Reacting to the allegation in an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actress said, “Can they just tell me the name of the politician because I don’t even have any politician as a friend. People are just peddling carry such rumours, no politician sponsored me to open the shop. I financed it from my sweat. And there is this belief in Yoruba that if you do a business from your own sweat, it will be more beneficial and profitable. So, it’s a rumour.”
Talking about why she ventured into such business, Biodun said it was for the future.
“It’s a normal thing to do business. Every sensible person will go into business at one point or the other because one would definitely need something to fall back on when old age sets in and I can’t continue being an actress forever,” she said.
Biodun debunked insinuation that she went into a new line of business because the acting industry is no longer booming.
“Whether it is booming or not, you’d find out that even people in the corporate world and government have businesses, so it’s a normal thing for every sensible person to diversify into other things. More so, sometimes things might not go on the way you want, so you could have something else to fall back on. As you are talking to me now, I’m on set, so it won’t affect my acting,” she said.
