Chilean defender Gonzalo Jara has been banned from Copa America for the indecent act of dipping his finger into Edinson Cavani’s pants last week.
Jara will miss the rest of Chile’s campaign for Copa. He will be facing a three match-ban. Edinson was sent off for pushing the defender. However, camera footages revealed how Jara dragged Cavani from behind.
CONMEBOL, the governing football body of South America said it's suspending Jara for ‘unsporting behavior’ and imposed a a fine of $7500 on him. Jara is to miss the semi-final match with Peru on Monday.
He won’t be able to play Chile’s qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup. Currently, both teams have lodged complaints with CONMEBOL, but before anything is done, it will be after Copa
