Embattled rapper Rick Ross has regained his freedom after posting a $2 million bond and walking out of a Georgia jail following his arrest on kidnapping, aggravated battery and aggravated assault charges last week.
The Hustlin’ hitmaker and associate Nadrian L. James were taken into custody in Fayette County following an alleged fight with a groundskeeper at his property, which was previously owned by boxer Evander Holyfield.
According to the arrest warrant obtained by Billboard.com, Ross allegedly assaulted Jonathan Zamudio with a handgun, causing injuries to his jaw, teeth and neck, and used forced to keep him in his guest house.A judge initially denied bail for Ross, real name William Roberts, but approved his lawyer’s request for a $2 million bond on Wednesday – and the rap heavyweight was released after posting the hefty sum.
According to TMZ.com, Ross pulled $1 million equity from Holyfield’s former estate, which he bought last year, and acquired the remainder from a $500,000 corporate surety bond from a bond bailsman and $500,000 in cash.
Ross’ lawyer assured the judge that if his client attempts to obstruct justice or intimidate any witnesses in the case, he will forfeit his mansion.
The gossip site also reports Ross agreed to wear a 24-hour GPS tracker to monitor his location at all times.
